PERMISSION.jpg

When someone tells you
that you do not deserve
your $600 a week,
that you are only
worth something
when gasping
for air…

don’t despair.

They’re just giving you
permission
to break their nose…

to slit their throat…

to drag their dreams
across concrete…

to open up the ground
beneath their stolen homes

and dance
while they shriek
about the importance of rules
and freedom.

When someone tells you,
simply reply:

“I am your freedom.”
